Instructors:

Tammy Wooten-Singh:

TammyTammy is the proprietor of the ACADEMY FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS. Tammy’s involvement in dance spans 33 years. She has performed in 30 pageants, 12 of which were Miss Iowa. She was the official Choreographer for the Miss Valley Fair Pageant from 1998-2002. The Academy Performing Companies: Kidazzle and Snap, have performed in Disney World in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2007. They have won several competition awards each year under the direction of Tammy. Out of 15 other studio’s the Academy won the honor of Best Studio at the Star System’s Competition . In 1988 Tammy traveled to Denmark and Russia to perform among a selected dance troop. From 1990 - 1993, she was the Quad City Thunder Choreographer. In 1993 she was selected to become a Chicago Bulls “Luvabull”. She received her Business Administration degree in 1988. Tammy is a Certified Teacher with Dance Educators of America. Her spare time is spent with her family, Sydney (9), Aidan (7) and husband Ajay. She enjoys traveling, bike riding and reading.

Tonya Lindskog:

Tonya was born and raised in the Quad Cities. She participated in her first dance recital at the age of 3, under the direction of MaryLou and Larry Dennhardt, and continued studying dance and music through college. Tonya has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Illinois State, and received her Master’s Degree in Special Education through Western Illinois University in 2001. Tonya can be found chauffeuring her two young daughters, Zoe (11) and Emma (9)! Tonya feels passionate about working with children and is glad to be back for another year.

Sarah Pruitt:

SarahWe are very excited to have Sarah back for her 10th year with the Academy. She has 18 years experience in dance andgymnastics training. Sarah has kept up her training at many dance conventions and college classes. She was a member of the Augustana Dance Team in 1995. Sarah graduated in 1998 with a Speech Pathologist and Teaching Degree and is working towards her Masters. Sarah, her husband Matt, and their first child, Grace, are looking forward to welcoming their second child into the world in December!



Breanne Buckrop:

BreanneBreanne is one of the Academy's most tenured students having started over 12 years ago. Having learned dance and assisted as a teacher at the Studio she recently undertook the role as teacher. Breanne will be graduating from Moline High School this year and will be pursuing a college education. She is currently performs with the Contemporaires Dance team.



Katie Giambeluca:

Katie hails from Arlington Heights and has over 17 years of dance experience in her background. Currently starting her third year at Augustana, Katie is majoring in Bio Education and is a active member in the Augustana Dance Company. Katie’s dance techniques range from ballet to funk.



Heather Huisenga:

Heather is returning to us for her first year as a teacher at the Academy after dancing with us for the past six years. She has been a cheerleader and a member of the Contemporaires Dance Team since she was a freshman. Heather graduated from Moline High School this year and plans to attend Black Hawk College this fall.



Allison Schlipmann:

Allison is returning for her third year at the Academy. Her hometown is in Quincy, Illinois. She is a student at Augustana where she is involved in orchestra, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Girl Scouts (troop leader), as well as other activities.



Elizabeth Timm:

Elizabeth returns to us for her third year of teaching after dancing with us for 15 years. She will be returning to Black Hawk College in the fall to business administration. She is also employed at the Hyvee in Moline and is also on the “Deck Mates” dance team.



Office Staff:

Cyndi Borman (Office Manager):

CyndiCyndi has been an asset to the Academy for 8 years. Cyndi spent several years in the banking industry and is now putting her background to work keeping the day to day operation of the Studio in order. Her dedication to student and parent satisfaction shows each day as evidenced by the number of people she greets in her office. Cyndi resides in LeClaire with her husband Darin and her three children, Brendon (10), Brady (8) and Isabella (5).

Shawna Asencio-Porter(Office assistant):

Shawna is returning for her 2nd year as an office assistant at the Academy. She spends her spare time with husband Allen, son Tre (14), daughter Sophia (11), son Jordan (4), and dog Marshell. Shawna teaches in Davenport, and enjoys reading and scrapbooking.
